最近の香港では、広東語を使わないようにしよう・英語だけ使おうと言った申し合わせでもあるのでしょうか？言語交換で広東語を全然使って下さらない方が増えました。かと言って日本語だけを使いたがると言う訳ではなく、なぜか英語です。中級者で間違いだらけなのにネイティブだと主張したり、誤った文法説明をしてくる人もいます。言葉は文化なので、自国の母国語や自分の母語には誇りを持つべきだと思います。母語を偽ると例の投資勧誘員と同じレベルになってしまうので、堂々と広東語を使った方が良いと思います。

私が３年ぐらい前まで香港に渡航した経験からですが、香港人でも新移民と呼ばれた大陸から移住などして年数の浅い人は、広東省出身でないかぎり広東語が話せなかったですね。３０年以上前ぐらいの完全なイギリス時代は丸っきり正反対で、(北京)普通話を家庭や学校教育などで受けていなかったので、広東語と英語だけよく話せて、(北京)普通話がわからない香港人がほとんどでしたよ。香港でもしも今後、英語と広東語と繫体字が廃れて、(北京)普通話と簡体字ばっかりになったら、もはやそこは香港ではないですよね。
